While the club of Cyberia first solidified as a haven of debauchery in the distant year of 2017, The lab of Cyberian Systems was open and operating in the near future of 1999. Developing what they described as a "digital heaven" for the aging and infirm, the company began to recruit the ailing  with a guaranteed afterlife beyond our dying world. After scandals and failed promises, and most questionably the talk of a "goddess" figure involved being leaked, the company shuttered in 2011, leaving its lab and warehouse untouched for years... until a group of refugees from the AxosChip Mandate decided to take it over and create a safe haven for those unaffected.
